New Orleans, Louisiana and Paris, France, 1856. Issued Third Exchange for 2,060 Francs from A. & M. Heine, Black text, Eagle at bottom center, Embossed company seal to left. Armand Heine (1818 - 9 November 1883) was a Jewish banker and philanthropist born in Bordeaux, France, who later lived in his chateau and vineyard, Beychevelle in Bordeaux. With his brother Michel (19 April 1819 - 10 November 1904), they founded the famous bank Armand & Michel Heine, in cooperation with the Rothschild Brothers & Co. in Paris, France and in New Orleans, Louisiana.
