NY. December 30, 1904. Letter to Warren L. Green, president of American Banknote Company, about the purchase of Franklin-Lee Bank Note Company, with Corporate stock sale agreements from the shareholders. This is a detailed, several-page document which outlines the "plan of procedure" regarding the transfer of this major printing entity. Also included in this lot are several pages of shareholder asset transfers, including financial details, as well as witness signatures granting approval to the sale. Warren L Green (1855-1919) was a nephew of James Macdonough, who served as the company's president from 1887 until 1906. Green was vice president of ABNC, and from 1906-1919 he served as the company's president. Green oversaw the merging of all domestic subsidiaries into the parent company, and the conversion of the company into a corporation, which involved the formation of the United Bank Note Corporation, which was a holding company created to acquire stock in the ABNC. The two corporations merged in 1911 under Green's leadership. VF. (From the John E. Herzog Collection).
