Location:Crowne Plaza Hotel. 401 South Van Brunt St, Englewood, New Jersey, 07631, United States
Buenos Aires, 13 May 1897. 4 page letter and financial accounting sheet from Samuel B Hale & Co., the business representative for ABNC in Argentina, addressed to T.H.Freeland at ABNC. Interesting letter content that discusses a range of issues with Freeland. Hale thanks Freeland for the "Model Notes" and "Your desire to have Bolivian Bank notes returned...We have shown the notes to Senor Maunco and he expressed himself as being very much satisfied with them....he has sent his report to the board....in favor of ABNC". Hale also discusses the information on the South American Printer "Compania Sud Americana" (which ABNC may have had a financial interest in) and Argentina's contract with them and the amount of counterfeiting required a new issue. He mentions that Mr.Maunco suggested that the denominations include only 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 Notes. Hale also discusses bonds that are held by ABNC of for investment and their financial interest in "Compania Sud Americana", the banknote printing company. The letter is signed by Hale. Interesting, historic and unique content letter that helps to enlighten the student of Security Printers to the inner day to day workings and financial interests of ABNC, the largest security printer at that time.
