This Hawaiian banknote record booklet by American Bank Note Company, measures 11.5 by 9.5 inches, with a green outer cover and a white label with typed ?HAWAIIAN ISLANDS-REPUBLIC OF HAWAII-Silver Certificates of Deposit- Gold Certificates of Deposit?, includes some of the most detailed and important records of the printing history of this series of historic banknotes that were produced by ABNC. This unique booklet includes 10 pages of original typewritten and hand-written records of the printing history of these banknote issues including detailed records of months and years that the notes were printed; quantities printed; vignette plate and die numbers for vignettes and printing plates; breakdown of printing elements including plate and die numbers for each separate item used to make up a printing plate; quantities printed of each note including serial number ranges used as well as quantities of proofs and disposition of specimens and proofs over the years. The time period this treasure trove of information was put together dates from the late 1880?s to 1890?s up until 1923. Also includes correspondence relating to proof and specimen samples.
