AIA Sale 40 - April 11, 2017 - Chinese, U.S. & Worldwide Banknotes, Coins & Scripophily

Auction Details

On behalf of the entire Archives International Auctions team, I would like to personally welcome you to our 40th auction we have held over the last ten years. We are excited to offer close to 1000 lots of numismatic material featuring additional gems from the Alexander I. Pogrebetsky Family Archives of rare Chinese banknotes as well as an impressive variety of U.S. & Worldwide Banknotes, Coins, and Scripophily.

Included in the sale are consignments from numerous estates and longtime collections with many items rarely being offered at auction. The sale is broken into two sessions, the first includes Chinese and Worldwide Banknotes and Coins and the second session consists of U.S. Banknotes, Scripophily, Coins, Security Printing Ephemera, and historic Documents and fiscal items.

The second session offers many U.S. Highlights including a large assortment of desirable scripophily from automobiles to mining to railroads and numerous other topics. Included in the session is a large group of Liberty Loans and Federal bonds as well as numerous U.S. colonial notes, obsolete banknotes, small, and large type notes as well as depression scrip and security printing ephemera.

We are now working on our Spring and Summer 2017 auctions and are seeking consignments for our upcoming April to June 2017 auctions. I would like to thank everyone who has participated in our previous sales and has helped make this auction series a resounding success. We are looking forward to another exciting auction and hope you enjoy our current offerings.

Best of luck, Bob Schwartz
