New York, 1919. $100 Specimen 6% Coupon Bond, Black text with brown border and undertint, Eagle at top center with spread wings. Red specimen overprints, 00000 serial numbers, and POCs. VF condition, ABNC. On January 1, 1919 Bankers Trust Company of New York became trustee of the company and the finances of the company were reorganized. Aetna Explosives tried to hang on, publishing a 156 page book/catalog describing its products and how to use them in 1920. The cover of that book listed thirteen branch offices, nine large plants, and one-hundred and ten distributing stations, but it was all for naught, for in 1921 Aetna Explosives was sold to the Hercules Powder Company, one of the companies formed after the breakup of the Powder Trust. Rare Transition bond issued for the takeover by Bankers Trust Company in 1919.
