Amazing Duo State Massachusetts - Rhode Island Uncut Proof Sheet of 4 Notes.18xx (ca.1830's), Uncut sheet of 4 proof notes printed in black on india paper mounted on thin card, the 3 top note are from Citizens Bank, Worcester, Massachusetts, $1-$2-$3 denominations the $1 is MA-1310-G8, SENC; $2 is MA-1310-Unlisted Design; the $3 is MA-1310-G20, SENC, and the bottom note is from the Traders' Bank, Newport, Rhode Island, $5 (RI-180-Unlisted Design). All are Unlisted in the census, The designs of the Massachusetts notes include $1 with cornucopia with grains, fruits and vegetables in middle flanked by numeral 1's with cherub on left and male reaper on right; the $2 note has locomotive passing people in middle flanked by numeral 2's with two cherubs , cameo on left and allegorical Justice on right; the $3 note has seated allegorical reaper with buildings and farm workers in middle flanked by numeral 3's with three cherubs each, cameo helmeted profile on left and swimming young woman on right; the $5 note has seated allegorical woman with eagle with breastplate with George Washington's image on it flanked by numeral 5's with cherubs, standing Washington statue on right and allegorical ornate figures on left. The sheet is printed in black on india paper on thin white card, the 4 notes grade between Choice to Gem Uncirculated condition. Rawdon, Wright & Hatch New York imprints on all notes.
