Snail Mail: Archives International Auctions
1060 Main Street, Suite 202, River Edge, NJ 07661

The auction will take place on May 23, 2023 at AIA's office located at 1060 Main St., Suite #202, River Edge, NJ 07661 beginning at 11:00 AM
Philadelphia, PA. and NYC. A 10.5 x 17 inch double sided manila page from a sample book with 38 mounted intaglio proof vignettes (15 on one side and 23 on the other). The vignettes are all different, but feature the same seated allegorical man holding globe, with the surrounding scenery, imagery and other objects changing depending on what the vignette was designed for. Virtually all of these were used for stocks and bonds of different companies in various industries. Each vignette has the die and reference numbers, and some have the name of the client mentioned (e.g. Horizon Corporation, Pennwalt Corp, Windsor Fund, Cowles Communications Inc., Transamerica Corporation, etc.). Mostly AU to uncirculated but the paper mounted on is chipping not effecting the vignettes. A very unusual printer's internal archival record, and most likely unique in this form. (38 vignettes on one page, front and back)
