New York, ND (ca. 1840-50s) Steel Printing Plate for New York State Arms with Locomotive and Steamboat. 8.25 x 2.3 inches, slightly more than 1/8th inch thick, Allegorical women flank eagle sitting on New York arms with locomotive at left and steamboat at right, used on obsolete banknotes, stocks, bonds and fiscal documents. the plate is in exceptional condition for its age.
