Philadelphia, PA. 1860, issued letterhead, intaglio printed in black with an early ABN Mast head listing all of the major partners as well as office locations from New Orleans up to Montreal, Canada. Issued from the Philadelphia office for "State of Pennsylvania" Treasury Department order form for 1500 checks bound in 15 books of 100 checks for a total of $78.75. Signed and approved by the Pennsylvania State Treasurer, Eli Stifer. VF condition with a very small 2mm by 5 mm piece missing from the left bottom margin away from text. ABN merged as a company in 1858 to 1859 and this is an early use of their letterhead.
