The auction will take place on January 24, 2023 at AIA's office located at 1060 Main St., Suite #202, River Edge, NJ 07661 beginning at 11:00 AM
New Orleans, Louisiana. Lot of over 30 pieces includes a 6 x 3.5 inch manila envelope with "New Orleans" and "City of New Orleans" proof vignettes of titles glued to the face of the envelope with 3 different titles printed on india paper in black or brown, All have cross hatching on edges, all were used on obsolete banknotes, fiscal documents and related financial instruments. Evidently they were kept for mock-up designs by the production department to use during the design process. They were probably printed by RWH&E or similar predecessor company based on the appearance and very few proofs printed by ABNC included the cross hatching which is present on these. Almost all are in Choice AU to CU condition. 2 of the vignette bundles are held together by a single small staple. A unique piece of Security printing ephemera. There are over 30 pieces of the proofs stapled in bundles. (30+)
