Atlantic City, New Jersey. 1934. Uncut, ungummed, and imperforate sheet consisting of 20 examples of the 3 Cents violet National Parks souvenir sheet of 6 stamps. The sheet was printed in Washington, D.C. and distributed in Atlantic City, New Jersey, August 1934, and issued under the authority of Postmaster General James A. Farley as part of his special imperforate printings distributed outside normal postal channels. As issued, the sheet lacks both perforations and gum. The complete original layout is intact, displaying wide margins, full selvage, and repeated inscriptions reading “Under Authority of James A. Farley, Postmaster General,” along with plate number information printed beneath each pane. Printed on the distinctive paper associated with Farley issues, this impressive full sheet represents a classic example of 1930s U.S. exhibition-era philately and is especially appealing for its scale, uniform presentation, and historical association with Farley’s controversial special printings.
