Australia, ca.1873-1900s. 4 proof exchanges from the National Bank of Australasia Ltd, all with a portrait of allegorical women and lion at top center, Locations includes: Adelaide, Australia. 1873 Single Proof Check, Black text, Notations at bottom in pencil, Fine condition with damage to left and right margins as well as toning; an uncut exchange pair of ca. 1870-90s First and Second Exchanges, Faint purple text, writing in pencil at bottom right, VF condition with toning at right; and, Melbourne, Australia. ca.1900s Specimen Second Exchange, Pink text and company watermark, XF-AU condition. The National Bank of Australasia was a bank based in Melbourne. It was established in 1858, and in 1982 merged with the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney to form National Australia Bank. (3)
