Autographed portrait of Greg Boyington. Boyington was an American combat pilot who served during World War 2. Boyington was initially a P-40 War hawk fighter pilot with the legendary "Flying Tigers" (1st American Volunteer Group) in the Republic of China Air Force in Burma at the end of 1941 and part of 1942, during the military conflict between China and Japan, and the beginning of World War II. Boyington's plane was shot down on January 3, 1944 over Rabaul and he was declared MIA, where he was captured by Japanese. He spent the remainder of the war in POW camp, Omori Prison Camp and was liberated on August 29, 1945.
