Baltimore, Maryland, ND (1940s). Lot of 4 Registered Specimen Bonds in Various Denominations and Colors: $- in Blue; $1000 in Brown; $5000 in Orange, and $10,000 in Olive Green. All are 5% Series F Refunding and General Mortgage Bonds with Specimen overprints and POCs, 2 of the bonds have additional overprints changing the parameters of the bond, Bonds are in XF to AU condition. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O), founded in 1827, was one of the first major railroads in the United States and a pioneering force in American transportation. Initially designed to connect the port of Baltimore with the Ohio River, the B&O Railroad played a critical role in opening up the American Midwest to trade and development.
