New York, NY, September 20th, 1878. 2 page letter on the letter head and from C.Adolphe Low & Co., 42 Cedar Street, New York (agents for Banco Internacional De Guatemala) to National Bank Note Company. The letter relates to the first NBNC banknote printing job for the bank, the 1879, 1 Peso, P-S151 banknote. This note was printed by ABNC after they took over NBNC in the late 1870's to early 1880's. The letter states that the bank had requested Adolphe Low & Co. " to order from you (NBNC) (200,000) $1.00 (one-dollar) like the model with the red back which you made for us ......in sealed packages of 500 notes each.....The word "de turno" in the model sent are to be omitted......the price of these 200,000 - $1.00 notes will be $4,500 subject to a discount of 10%". The leter mentions other details that the bank would like as well as pricing and seals. The letter is signed C.Adolphe Low & Co by secretarial signature but initialed by Adolphe Low on the lower left back page.
