Afghanistan, March 13, 1970, Lot of 2 photo-proofs of banknotes and one matching photo proof of vignette, Includes 10 and 20 Afghanis photographic proofs printed in black on light tan paper, each with face on bottom and back on top, King Muhammad Zahir at left facing forward on front, the back of the 10 Afghanis note has palace with fountain, the back of the 20 Afghanis has arched monument, a photo proof of the arch monument is also included with archival notations and measurements, All are in excellent to Uncirculated condition. Evidently a proposal from United States Banknote Corporation that was rejected. Only 1967 and 1973 dated banknotes were issued. Rare archival proof from ABN archives.
