Great Britain, 1993 (Overprinted 1994 on top), £10, P-386a Unlisted Polymer Essay banknote. Black, brown and red on m/c. The notes were miscut intentionally with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth on the left and the seated Brittania image on the right, with a small gutter between the two halves, a pink overprinted date "Nov 7 1994 - 276" is on the top margin, the back has the portrait of Charles Dickens on the left side due to the way the note was cut with the Cricket match on the right side with a gutter between them. There are no overprints or serial numbers. The note is printed on DuraNote Polymer Plastic paper. It was released by the Bank of England, but only in this format where there are 2 halves of connected notes rather than an intact note in the normal form. The note was printed as part of a project from Mobil Oil for testing petroleum based hydrocarbon polymer paper for printing banknotes. The project was abandoned after the company merged with Exxon to form Exxon-Mobile. (Please be aware: We will not ship this note to England due to the nature of the item and the possibility of issues entering the country).
