Berryville, Arkansas. October 16, 1862. $2, Unlisted in Rothert and Criswell, Issued obsolete scrip note, Dated October 16th, 1862, "Payable in Confederate Notes, or Mo. Defense Bonds, when $10, $20, or $50 is presented", Black text, signature at bottom in gray ink, S/N 20, VF to Choice VF condition or better. Issuer's name is difficult to make out but appears to be (Julett?) & Wormington. A similar design but lower denomination, 50 Cent, example in lessor condition was auctioned in 2010 by Heritage for $920. This is by far a superior example and has never appeared previously in auction as well as possibly being unique.
