Mexico, 1865, $1000, 10% Bond. Black on lime green border and underprint, Portraits of Washington, Lincoln, Hidalgo and I think Juarez, with U.S. and Mexican soldiers with flags that have "Monroe Doctrine" on them and seated Liberty with eagle. Green underprint circle with $1000 Denomination, Serial number cut out on top left, circular punch on lower right above autograph otherwise the bond appears XF. Offices were in San Francisco, California. General Gaspar Sanchez Ochoa was a former governor of Zacatecas and commander of the Pacific military department. He was sent to the U.S. to secure funding to support Mexico from the U.S. in 1865. Historic Mexican bond. Three off these bonds that the cataloger knows of sold for over $200,000 U.S. each in 2012 and 2013 to speculators.
