Pennsylvania....., Ohio, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Other States, The Rhoda Royal Circus performed in the mid-west between ca.1910 to the mid-1920s. Illustrated Broadsheet detailing traveling circus act which includes over 500 people, artist, and performers including the Famous Stickney Family of Acrobats, a lion tamer, a Wild West show, and more. Sheet has wonderful illustrations and is double sided. The Rhoda Royal Circus of 1919-22 was one of several new circuses that cropped up in the immediate period following World War I. It was designed to take advantage of the good times and prosperity of the country caused by the accelerated war time economy and the amusement hungry populace which after a year and a half of war and its necessary restrictions on circuses and other amusements were now anxious to live it up again. Like others of its kind the Rhoda Royal Circus started off with a bang, made a pot full of money right away, enlarged, and was on its way to prosperity but was soon caught in the middle of the sharp 1921 recession which quickly whittled away the earlier profits and made the show a candidate for bankruptcy a few days after the start of the 1922 season. The big Rhoda Royal Two-Ring Circus and Buffalo Bill Pawnee Bill Wild West Show performed together annually in Kansas City, Missouri.
