Burma (Myanmar). ca.3-6rd to 20th Centuries. Lot of 90 Hammered and Milled Coins. This group lot features a rich and diverse collection of coins from Myanmar, spanning from the ancient Pyu Kingdom to the modern era. The lot begins with a mix of 18 early coins, including five from the Pyu Kingdom, such as the silver Unit of 80 Ratti (ca. 3rd-7th Century); five from Pegu; one from Sikandar ca. 1571-1593; one from Sanda Wizaya ca. 1072h (1710); one from Narapatiya ca. 1104h (1742); one from Thamada ca. 1144h (1782); and four from Bodawapaya ca. 1146h (1784). The collection then transitions to coins from the Konbaung Dynasty, including a 1 Pe (CS1214, 1852, KM-6), two 1 Mu (CS1214, 1852, KM-7), one 1 Mat (CS1214, 1852, KM-8), one 5 Mu (CS1214, 1852, KM-9), and three 1 Kyat (CS1214, 1852, KM-10). The lot continues with seven 1/4 Pe coins from CS1227 (1865, KM-18) and five 1 Mu coins from CS1240 (1879, KM-25). It also includes coins from 1949 to 1966, with denominations ranging from 1 Pya to 1 Kyat, and additional coins from 1966 to 1983 in various denominations. The collection is rounded off with a single banknote, a Myanmar 100 Kyats note from ND (1945), cataloged as P-22a, in VF condition with a missing piece on the bottom left corner.
