Connecticut, 1789 to 1791. Lot of 3 I/C Payment Certificates for Various Denominations, Money should be paid out of "any funds appropriated for the payment of interest on the liquidated debt of the State of Connecticut", First is made out to Erther Phillip in 1789 for 10 Shillings, S/N 3828, Second is made out to Ebenezer Banks in 1790 for 1 Pound 7 Shillings, S/N 8177, Third is made out to Eliyah Houghton in 1791 for 10 Shillings, S/N 5897. All are cut cancelled or have large hole through center and are signed by Ralph Pomeroy (1750-1816). Pomeroy was a colonel in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, participating in key battles like Bunker Hill. After the war, he served as the Comptroller of Connecticut from 1790 to 1792. Pieces range from VF to XF condition. (3). Sold "AS IS" no returns accepted.
