Hartford, Connecticut, 1781. Lot of 3 Tax Pay Orders Issued by the Pay-Table Office. Black print, handwriting, and signatures, all issued to Ralph Pomeroy for sums "granted by the General Assembly in May last, and charge the state." All are signed by William Moseley, Eleazer Wales, and Jedidiah Huntington. William Moseley (1755-1824) later would serve in the Connecticut state senate. He was also the Director of the Hartford National Bank from 1797 to 1815. Jedediah Huntington (1743-1818), was an American general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. After the war, he served in numerous civilian posts. Fine condition with some toning around margins. Sold "AS IS" no returns accepted. (3)
