Connecticut, 1782. Lot of 2 I/C tax pay order issued by the Pay-Table Office in Hartford. Black text with black handwriting, signed by Committee members William Moseley and Oliver Wolcott Jr. Moseley (1755-1824) later would serve in the Connecticut state senate. He was also the Director of the Hartford National Bank from 1797 to 1815. Oliver Wolcott Jr. (January 11, 1760 - June 1, 1833) was the second United States Secretary of the Treasury, a judge of the United States Circuit Court for the Second Circuit, and the 24th Governor of Connecticut. He was a member of the Pay-Table Committee for several years, and was a commissioner to settle claims of Connecticut against the United States from 1784 to 1788. When Wolcott died in 1833 in New York City, he was the last surviving cabinet member of the Washington administration. VF condition.
