Bank of Canada, 5 Dollars, P-42s, BC-5S, Specimen Banknote, Ottawa issue of 1935, English text only, Black on light to dark orange underprint with Portrait of Prince Edward - Prince of Wales at left, Back is orange with 'Electric Power' seated at center, Note is printed in English, Red Specimen overprints, S/N A0000000 pp A, PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 64, with nearly perfect centering and 3 large, even margins as well as the bright fresh appearance only adds to this lovely notes desirability as well as giving the appearance of a Gem Uncirculated example, BABN. printed by the British American Bank Note Company, Ottawa. This rare note represents another important and highly collectible example from the first Bank of Canada issue marking the transition from chartered bank notes to a centralized national currency system in 1935.
