Canada, ca.1960-70s. Lot of 17 Political and Satirical fantasy notes produced to mock Canadian economic policies and political figures of the mid-20th century. Includes issues referencing John Diefenbaker, Lester B. Pearson, and the New Democratic Party, among others. Designs feature humorous denominations such as the “92½¢” and “One Diefendollar,” and slogans like “A 100% Stable Canadian Dollar,” “Bank of Kuch,” and “Help Us Straighten Up Canada.” Printed in a variety of styles and colors, including offset and lithographic methods on differing paper stocks.
