China, 1944, 10 Yuan, P-Unlisted, development proof for Central Bank of China printed by Security Banknote Co., portrait of Sun Yat Sen at center, dated 1-15-44 PWF 19. This may be the date this note was being worked on. However, its an unadopted design. SBNC didn’t make any notes for China after 1941, except for the 1947, 10,000 Yuan and an unissued 5 Yuan, 1945. None of their issued notes have Sun Yat Sen in the center. This same portrait was used on SBNC’s 1941 notes – with SYS to the left, uniface front of an unadopted design, apparently made in 1944. SBNC. Unique in archive.
