Lot of 3 banknotes, 2 are altered notes from lower denominations. Included is a 1928, $1, P-195 that has been raised to a $5 banknote with well done artwork. It is clipped to note that states "Memorandum From Office of the President?.Date September 23, 1938....Subject - Chinese Forgeries. The attached Raised Central Bank of China $1 note sent by H.G.J.McNeary with his letter of August 8th. Note No. SN 715906". Also included is a pair of Central Bank of China $1 notes, one normal and the second raised to $100, attached to a note "Example of "Raised" bill - from McN(eary), 1/19/46". Rare and interesting ABNC counterfeiting items from research department.
