China. 1949. 50,000 Gold Yuan. Series 1A. P-Unlisted (PMG gave it the designation of S/M#C302). Uniface front and back specimen banknotes in green. CKS in center. Specimen overprint and POC, the back of each note with "Approved for Production L-4 - Color O.K. 4-12-49". Both front and back "Printer's Designs" are PMG graded Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality), Horizontal note. Rare high denomination essay banknote in superb grade, One of the finest known of this rare variety and almost impossible to improve upon. SBNC. The last time we offered an example of this note was over 5 years ago. This is by far the rarest of 3 denominations of this essay type.
