Large group of over 20 items related to the Century of Progress International Exposition, highlights include: Group of used and unused postcards featuring scenes and buildings from the Exposition; Chinese Lama Temple booklet with illustrations and chapters about the exhibition of historic Chinese collections; Souvenir booklet from the Armour Building about the meat production industry; Several souvenir objects with a silver-colored coating over images of Chicago; And several maps and guides to the Exposition, as well as the city of Chicago. A Century of Progress International Exposition, also known as the Chicago World's Fair, was a World's Fair held in the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States, from 1933 to 1934. The fair, registered under the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), celebrated the city's centennial. The theme of the fair was technological innovation, and its motto was "Science Finds, Industry Applies, Man Adapts", giving out a message that science and American life were wedded. Its architectural symbol was the Sky Ride, a transporter bridge perpendicular to the shore on which one could ride from one side of the fair to the other. Fair visitors saw the latest wonders in rail travel, automobiles, architecture and cigarette-smoking robots. VF to Uncirculated condition. (20+ pieces).
