Cancelled cutouts, POCs and 2 different adhesive revenue stamps have been cut out, otherwise the certificate is in VF condition. Samuel J. Tilden signed the back as Trustee. Samuel Jones Tilden (February 9, 1814 Ð August 4, 1886) was an American politician who served as the 25th Governor of New York and was the Democratic candidate for president in the disputed election of 1876. Tilden won the popular vote in a United States presidential election but lost the election.
