Montreal, Canada. 1880-90's. $1000, Variable %, Coupon Bond, Black printing on light red "$1000" underprint, Coupons attached on bottom and on right side, Image of Montreal Harbor under Title with Lion and unicorn on top and Gryphons on either side, Printed in india paper mounted on thin card. Some light soiling, Toning and foxing on the left margin and some minor small tears on the bottom, The bond has the coupons on the right folded over which leaves the margin a little rough. Very possibly unique in this format and first time seen by cataloger. Also the bond was printed by a short lived printer, "Canada Bank Note Company, Montreal" which was formed in the early 1880's and the business closed in 1894-95 due to lack of large clients.
