Georgia and New York. 1919. 100 Shares, Specimen, Black text on dark blue border and light blue underprint, No vignettes, Specimen overprints, POC's and "00000" Serial numbers, VF/XF condition. This is the earliest Coca-Cola stock certificate that exists. 3 were found in different colors in the 1990's that were saved from a paper shredder at that time. The three Voting Trustees were composed of: Ernest Woodruff who was born in Columbus, Georgia, the son of Ernest Woodruff, an Atlanta businessman who, among other things, was leader of the group of investors who bought The Coca-Cola Company from Asa Griggs Candler in 1919. His grandfather was Atlanta manufacturing magnate Robert Winship. Eugene W. Stetson of the Guaranty Trust Company of New York formed the Stetson Family Office in 1919 when he organized and arranged for the public offering of the Coca-Cola Company. Stetson also ran the Illinois Central for Averill Harriman at Harriman’s request. He merged the well-capitalized Guaranty Trust Company with the much smaller J.P. Morgan bank. The Stetson School of Business at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia was established in his memory. The third trustee, Samuel Candler Dobbs, was president from 1919 to 1920 and chairman of The Coca-Cola Company, from 1919 to 1922. This is it, a historic company and an extremely rare stock certificate. ABNC.
