Specimen certificate. 189-. Vignette of sword, gun and helmet on top and cross bow on bottom. Back has red "Last Specimen - Not to be Given Out". The Columbian Guard were involved with keeping order at the Columbian Exposition and also as acting as unofficial ambassadors. Almost all were from military or police service and were between 21 and 35 years of age and had to have certain physical attributes including height requirements. The was immense competition to be selected for a position in the guard. Rare discharge certificate and Columbian Expo ephemera. VF to almost XF condition. Printed by WBNC. Unique in archive.
