Pennsylvania, 1873. $1000 I/U Certificate of Adjudicated Claim for War Damages during the Civil War, Black text with black border, vignette at top Pennsylvania state seal. Fine condition with staining and splitting along marginal fold lines, some damage at bottom margins. Signed by Pennsylvania Governor John F. Hartranft, who was the United States military officer who read the death warrant to the individuals who were executed on July 7, 1865 for conspiring to assassinate American President Abraham Lincoln. He was also awarded the U.S. Medal of Honor for his actions during the First Battle of Bull Run.
