Connecticut, 1791. I/C Payment of 5 Pounds, 6 Shillings, and 3 Pence of lawful money "out of any Funds appropriated for the Payment of interest on the liquidated Debt of the State of Connecticut." Back text with black border, hole cancelled at center, and signed by Ralph Pomeroy as Comptroller. During the Revolutionary War, Ralph Pomeroy was a paymaster in the Continental Army. He remained involved in state politics, acting as State Controller after the war, and was also engaged in mercantile and manufacturing activities in Hartford. VF condition for its age, pair of ink stains on back. Printed by Hudson and Goodwin.
