Lot of 9 Issued National Bank Stock Certificates representing post–Civil War regional banking and the expansion of the National Banking System, Includes: 1895, Northfield National Bank, Vermont; 1879, Vermont, West River National Bank of Jamaica; Lot of 2 certificates, 1875 and 1890, First National Bank of New Milford, Connecticut; 1865, First National Bank of Norwich, Connecticut; 1870, First National Bank of New London, Connecticut; 1865, First National Bank, Warren, RI; 1867, Norwich National Bank, Connecticut; and, 1880, Framingham National Bank, Massachusetts. Certificates display finely engraved vignettes featuring eagles, allegorical figures, portraits, industrial scenes, and classical bank buildings. Several examples show endorsements, revenue stamps, embossed seals, dividend notations, and period signatures. Conditions range from Fine to XF overall, with expected folds, toning, edge wear, and handling consistent with age. (9). Sold “AS IS” no returns accepted.
