Handwritten letter addressed to Samuel Fosdick in Cincinnati, Ohio, commenting that the demand for iron is very high, due to the construction of railroads in the British/East Indies, "from 1500 to 2000 miles are now in the course of construction" which requires about 200,000 tons of iron. Also discusses the need of the East India Company for more capital to induce investors by offering a new subscription of their stock paying 5% for 20 to 25 years, Black handwriting on gray paper. Includes a red wax seal on back and a black postal handstamp that is difficult to read. Fine condition with toning, aging, and some stains.
