New York, ca. 1860-70s. Lot of 2 Fractional Notes, including 1 Cent with a portrait of a man at right with red underprint; and 3 Cents with an allegorical woman at center, Eastman signature at bottom right. Both are in Choice AU to Uncirculated Condition. The Eastman Business College was a business school located in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. It operated from 1859 until it closed in 1931. Rather than merely being a theoretical school, students gained practical experience in the business arts by actually performing the tasks that would be expected of them in their working careers, a novel approach at the time.
