El Banco Anglo Ecuatoriano, 1885 Provisional Issue.Guayaquil (Montecristi crossed out), Ecuador, ND (1885) 1885 Provisional Issue, 1 Sucre over stamped on 1 Peso, P.S95, S/N 05778, Black on light brown, Condor on Ecuador Arms flanked by Unicorn and lion on face, back brown with mountain scene center, This note would grade choice XF to AU condition with the note of a tear due to cancellation, Upon opening its Guyaquil office the Bank provisionally overprinted its Montecristi notes for Guayaquil. Pick records and illustrates a provisional 1 Sucre with a serial #11020 and does not record the 5 and 10 Sucres overprinted on Pesos. Validated on the back with a purple stamp of the Ministry, Cancelled with a tear (professionally rejoined) on the top middle margin approximately 1 inch long and by the signatures manually crossed out. *The Pick cataloguers were only able to locate two issued notes to illustrate on this bank, both 1 Sucres. Rare note missing from most advanced collections. ABNC.
