Various Rulers this lot features an intriguing collection of 31 coins from Italy, the Italian States of Sicily and Venice, Portugal, Portuguese India, Spain, and the Vatican (Sede Vacante). Spain is represented with its 5 Pesetas (1871, 1876, 1885, 1888, KM-666, KM-671, KM-688, KM-659), 1 Peso (1895, KM-700), and 100 Pesetas (1966, KM-797). Italy offers a range of Lira coins (5 Lira, 1876, KM-8.9; 20 Lira, 1827, 1928, KM-69, KM-70) and 500 Lire (1958, 1961, 1965, 1966, 1986, KM-98, KM-99, KM-100, KM-111). The Italian States contribute with Sicily's 120 Granas (1841, KM-341) and Venice's Soldini (1401-1413, 1501-1521, Pap# 3, MB# 9, N# 114279, N# 87142). Portugal's selection includes 10 Reis (1737, KM-217), Escudos (1 Escudo, 1910, 1915, KM-560, KM-564; 10 Escudos, 1928, KM-579; 20 Escudos, 1953, 1960, 1966, KM-585, KM-589, KM-592; 50 Escudos, 1968, 1969, KM-593, KM-598), and Portuguese India's 1 Rupia (1904). The Vatican's contribution is the Sede Vacante 500 Lire (1963, KM-75). Sao Tome's 50 Escudos (1970, KM-21) completes the set.
