Exchange Bank of Virginia $15 Denomination, ca.1830's Obsolete Proof.Norfolk, Virginia, 18xx (ca.1830's), $15, Plate C & D Uncut Production proof sheet pair with vignettes cut out, VA-145-G115, Design 15A, Proof banknote pair, Banknotes printed in black on india paper, The top note has a Sailing ship in middle with building in background flanked by Washington and Marshall, allegorical Liberty on left and blacksmith on right, missing the bottom small vignette and central part of the denomination, the bottom note has the middle 1/3rd removed completely with the central vignette, title and denomination missing from the middle. Light Glue stains in corners Choice XF to AU condition banknote pair other than then the missing pieces. Rawdon, Wright & Hatch, New York imprint. Amazing denomination and even in this condition.
