1976. $1,000. Specimen 5-3/4% Convertible Bond. Purple border. Eagle vignette. Red specimen overprints and POC's. Coupons attached. The company was founded by Sherman Fairchild. In 1957 the company was approached by members of the "Traitorous Eight", who were ex-employees of Shockly Semiconductor Laboratory. Sherman Fairchild agreed to finance them and provided the venture capital for Fairchild Semiconductor, from which dozens of semiconductors would originate and form the beginnings of "Silicon Valley".
