ca.1820's-30's. 13 by 17 inch framed and matted advertising vignette sheet for FDU with advertising banknote on top middle. The ad note states "This specimen of work to prevent Forgeries is respectfully submitted to the banking institutions of the United States - Philadelphia" Note has "5" denomination counters and counterfoils on left and right with William Penn on left and Washington on right. Sheet has multiple ornate counters with multiple vignettes of Sir Walter Raleigh, George Washington, allegorical vignettes, cherubs, eagles and miscellaneous borders. XF appearance, but I am not certain how it is mounted or attached to the matting. Rare early advertising security printer vignette sheet with ad note. FDU.
