U.S. 1870's. 6 pages of early National Banknote Company Medallion vignettes with various denominations on them. These were used on various U.S.obsolete banknotes and most have the banks name integrated with the lathe work design. 120+ proof vignettes are present. A few of the banks represented in this group are Commercial Bank of Troy; The Bank of Ontario; Salem bank, Mass; Bank of Pottstown; Canal Bank, New Orleans; State Bank of Iowa; Western Bank of Illinois; Hermitage Bank, Illinois and so forth. Almost all of the circular ornate medallions or counters have the banks name on them and a majority of them are different. Most, if not all of these are unique in this archive or at most 2 or 3 were found. Plate numbers range between 174 to 1051. NBNC.
