New York, 1846, Signed 2 page letter in Spinner's hand, Francis Elias Spinner was an American politician from New York. He was Treasurer of the United States from 1861 to 1875. The letter includes various interesting statements including “NYS 5% Stock is now above par....lowest rate that they have been Sold for.....was a contrivance of the "Bearz", and "I returned from Washington yesterday... the Governor Yell says "Arkansas not worth ane damn"… Etc… Interesting and historic context. Early date for a Spinner letter. VF
