Baltimore, Maryland, 18xx, (ca.1830-40), $500-$1000, No Plate Numbers, MD-75-G136-G140, Both SENC, Black on white india paper on thin card, $500, Franklin flanked by “500” counters, seated allegorical seamstress on left and seated allegorical woman with wheel and bridge over stream on right, “500” counters on bottom corners; $1000, Franklin in middle flanked by “1000” counters with helmeted Roman soldier with 2 women on left and right, “1000” counters on bottom corners, small punched out cancels in signature blocks, The $500 note would grade Gem Uncirculated and the $1000 note has a light partial fold on the lower left corner that keeps it from Gem Uncirculated.
