104th March Party Garfield-Perry Stamp Club March 1994. Portrait of George Washington commissioned for the Continental Bank Note Co. in1879 by an unknown engraver who took inspiration from the Athenaeum portrait painted by Gilbert Stuart in 1796. The Stuart portrait appeared on a number of US stamps including the 10 cent stamp printed in 1855 by Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. Uncirculated, ABNC. (50).
