Georgia, September 10, 1777, $8, P-S841, Issued, S/N 919, The $8.00 is far and away the rarest note of this eight piece series. Ever popular because of the design of the seal being 13 rings surrounding C Congress meaning Continental Congress. This same design, in a modified version, was also used 12 years later on the reverse of the first official U. S. Coin - the 1787 Fugio Cent. A pleasing VF with a couple of thin splits repaired on the reverse. The most difficult note to obtain in the series and always in demand because of its vignette and its association with Ben Franklin. Catalogs in Newman, VF $2700, XF 6,000.
